Heroquest for Charity

Hi, I am new to this forum but I have been a heroquest fan since I was a little boy. I am thrilled to see so many fans of the game on this forum; I had no idea it was this popular. I live in CT, USA., and I am planning to hold a Heroquest charity event next year to raise money for a local homeless shelter. I am looking for ideas on how to promote my event, attract players, and any other ideas that you may have. This is my first event like this so it will likely be small (20 players), but I want it to be fun and I want to raise a lot of money for a good cause, so looking forward to hearing for anyone.

Greetings. |_P

That sounds daunting. My advice would be to teach a few people how to play before the event so that you're not trying to teach a whole load of people at the same time.

Can't say I've run either a charity event or a group heroquest event ... I suppose if you can gather a few experienced Evil Wizards and have a few different tables ... maybe each one playing different quests?

Prizes? Raffles?

Thanks for the Advice, I was assuming that those that would signing up would already be familiar enough to know how to play. But you are right, the experienced zargons should be prepared to provide a tutorial.

Yeah, we are going to charge a fee, but the fee will include dinner, some drinks and prizes. I am also going to have someone design a website that will allow heros to have "sponsors", money for every monster killed or something like that, similar to marathons.

I know nothing about sponsorships, but perhaps Zargons could be sponsored too. Maybe a higher amount per each hero killed.

Or same amount for each BP of damage caused?

I didn't think of that, that's a great idea. The zargons are going to be voluteers supporting the event, but it would give the volunteers a chance to raise money too, thanks!
