Ye Olde Inn

I wouldnt know how to go about uploading them. They are currently only written on bits of paper. Would I need any special computer program to create them?

if possible, just scan them and email them to me and I'll take care of it...

or, just take a high res digital picture.

I've been a D&D/AD&D RPer for more years than I care to count; I think I was born with a d20 in my hands and a love for Erol Otus' artwork in my head. Back in the day, I never looked at games like HeroQuest because I was quite the D&D snob.

A couple of years ago, my (then) wife picked up a complete copy of HeroQuest at a thrift store thinking I'd like it. I thanked her for it, put it up in my closet, and forgot about it.

The other day I got it down from my closet for my girlfriend's son to play with but (thankfully) happened to check online for, like, quick-play instructions. I found a veritable cornucopia of cool stuff, including this site. I also saw how much copies of the game were going for on eBay. So I quickly gave my GF's son a different game and started reading the HQ rules and inventorying my copy of the game.

Wow, I'm really excited to play this game. I've been trying to get a D&D game together with my friends, but I just don't have the time to prep it. We're going to start playing HeroQuest, and this site is awesome what with all the PDF resources.

Welcome! I hope you're able to get a game going soon so you can enjoy it as much as everyone else here does. It's also a great introduction to RP games. Glad you dusted it off and gave your GF's son a different game to play with. Perhaps one day, you can play the game with him too.

I first played Hero Quest over at a friends house when i was a kid in the early '90s and loved it. I always checked the game section of stores to see if they had it, but of course, it was out of print Then about a year ago I started thinking about it again, but couldn't even remember the name of the game, just what it looked like. Thankfuly, now days we have the internet, so i just did a search for board games on ebay and after a long while, found what I'd spent years searching for: Hero Quest Now i have the game system and all the expansion quest packs and play as often as i can. I even sent an e-mail to Hasbro telling them my story and urging them to reprint this wonderful game. Now I hold weekly game nights every Saterday where my friends and I play Hero Quest and other games. I highly recomend Red Dragon Inn, by the way, its perfect for right after finishing a quest

Its been awhile... I know I fell off the face of the planet for awhile, but I am juggling some major real-world responsibilities as of late... I am in the process of reinventing the wheel on doyouhq,com... curious your thoughts by the way, but as far as the Inn... DEAR LORD MY FRIEND!!! You've been busy... It looks beautiful sir... you and Phoenix look like you have things quite organized... i have grown to expect nothing less

So anyway, I just wanted to say hi and thank you for your kindness in my fledgling days shopping for a webhost... I am sorry for Startlogic's hassles. They have been good to me though... I just don't have as many bells and whistles as you do... at least not with heavy DPI... You know, we could share the load through them though... if you want to put some of the files on my account and link to them from yours, we could divvy up the load...

Just thought i would put that out there... Anyway sir, drop a line when you can. Curious to know how things are going for you in your corner of hell

Real-world responsibilities is the greatest distraction from our little hobby. When you have more of DoYouHQ?'s meat fleshed-out, let us know and I'll be able to provide some feedback. I do like the Rich Uncle Pennybags sporting the HQ helmet and wielding the sword. It shows your roots with HQMonopoly.

There's still a tonne of work sitting on my to-do list for Ye Olde Inn. At the moment, I'm going through and re-validating my HTML. I used to have the Website conforming to XHTML, but I find HTML allows me to display the pages the way I prefer. I still have the tile and resource pages to finish up, then it's on to adding the content legends to all the multiple language resource pages and updating the Sitemap. Plenty more content in the works too. Pretty near the entire Italian set left to go and I should be receiving the Portuguese (Brazil) set soon. Plus more Quests, Cards, etc. All in good time.

The storage here is okay at the moment. I've only had two people request 300dpi files since they went down, so I guess they aren't in that much demand. I'm still looking into alternate Web Hosting (eyeing InMotion at the moment), but I am fairly comfortable with Startlogic. Other than the storage fiasco last May, I haven't had any problems or heard a peep from them since. The new vDeck 4.0 control panel is really nice too. So much better than cPanel.

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to post a quick intro and say thank you for providing an amazing resource here. Between what on this site and the others it links to... Wow. Enough to keep busy for a looooong time.

I'm an old-school D&D guy myself but have owned the HQ boardgame since it came out here in the US, along with Kellars Keep and Return of the Witch Lord. Don't recall playing them much, but I've recently started a game night with my kids and a few of their friends rotating in and out. We're playing Risk 2210 right now, but I'm looking to get them into some fantasy and I think HQ may be just the ticket, so I dug out my old set. Started poking about the 'Net and found this place, among others. Again - Wow. I've downloaded the other expansions and printed up some cards and tiles, going to start reading and looking at ways to expand the game if and when the kids get into it. I can see how it can be played up as more of a roleplaying game as well and should nicely lead into full-fledged D&D should they catch the bug. We'll see!

HeroQuest is a great way to prepare youngin's for fantasy. A gateway drug of sorts. It's simple enough to pick up and play right away and is easy to expand.

This is a great place, a rekindled love, I thought this wonderful game was lost in time, I'm glad to see it still thrives, I recently introduced some youngsters to this game, and had kids wanting to trade playstation systems for my board game, yeah right. I love all the great quests you all have come up with, you have helped renew an old favorite of mine for a new generation, Thanks and God bless.
