Hi everybody.
It was 1990 when my bro got as birthday present the Hero Quest game. I was 12 and he was 8. I can still remember how excited we were, when we started setting up the game. All those figures and scenery. It was absolutely awesome! I was a newfound Conan fan then so you can all assume wich was my favorite character. Barbarian all the way!! We played alot for the following 2-3 years (wich equals with 2-3 centuries in childhood timing), but then we stopped. Teenagers have other worries than board games. The game was stored by our
mother (wich is rather talented in making things disappear), and everytime we were talking about setting a game, we knew we had to really search in to the depths of our storage room, so we forgot about it.
Few months ago, a leak forced our parents to empty the storage room. So when i passed by the heaps of long lost stuff, guess what was there in a bag. A Greek Hero Quest main game + Dragon Game System (Dark World) in great condition. Actually DGS is in mint condition almost. HQ had 3 figures missing and the barbarian sword broken
. We wanted to play so badly, so i started checking around for anyone selling minis and stuff. I never believed that there were so many people still involved in that discontinued game. I though that just me, bro and some friends were nostalgic about it. But i was wrong. People all over the world were fanatic about it. I realised also for the first time that there were so many expansions. You see in Greece we only got the main game, Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord. The rest european expansion were never translated. Propably the previous expansions didnt sell enough, wich is logical since they costed almost the same price with the main(huge) game. Even i then considered it a rip off.
I cant thank enough everybody involved in this site's goodies. You gave me the chance not only to get that missing parts of the game, but also to get great ideas for the game. Right now i got 2 more copies of the game via ebay and setting up the expansions too. We have great time with our company playing the game. Its kinda funny to see a big table with guys in their 30's, listening usually Conan the Barbarian OST and other epic stuff, drinking, smoking and shout in joy or despair according to the dice throw over HQ.
