Greenstuff Beginnings

Tips and tricks about sculpting.

Anyone recommend a brand of green stuff? Or tips on working with epoxy putty. I would like to modify a few minis and then recast in resin. I plan on trying out composimold to make the molds. I read somewhere to use Vaseline instead of water for lube. I've worked with polymer clays but never epoxys. Thanks in advance

Sculpey or Fimo are great if you are just starting out at sculpting whole objects. They don't go hard until you bake them, unlike kneadatite or milliput. Plus they are a lot cheaper and come in lots of colours.

Is the epoxys softer than the sculpts or fimo polymers? It's hard for my fat fingers to work on small polymers when it gets hot and soft

First I will try to make a goblin war drum figure out of one with a broken weapon. Basically a goblin with a summon ability.

I do not like greenstuff unless it is the liquid stuff used to fill issues.
I buy mini's second hand and the biggest PITA is to find a cool mini with a halfassed cloak made of greenstuff.

just do an ebay search for green stuff or kneadite (its the same thing...itsd exactly the same stuff that Gw sell and you'll get a load more for your buck.
i tend to always buy greenstuff in bulk and store it in a sealed container.
know how greenstuff cures is a handy thing too. the warmer the temperature. the quicker it will cure.
and you can store unused mixed greenstuff in the freezer for a few days too to save on wastage.

example below of 36 inch reel of greenstuff for the grand price of 7 quid
