Making a Sword

I have a question...
I have some figurines, Hero Quest and pewter, that are broken. How would I go about making/sculpting a sword? What material should I use? It would be nice if you don't tell me brand names, because I am in South Korea, so the brand you use probably isn't available here, but the base product is (ie. don't say "Frisbee" but "Flying Disc"). Any help would be appreciated.

Get a pack of metal or plastic weapons and a tiny set of drills.
You use the drills to hand drill out the metal or plastic were the broken weapon was at so you can replace it with a new weapon in the hand. Get a pair of tiny needle nose jewelers pliers to open and close the hand around the new weapon after you put a tiny amount of glue in the hand or on the weapon handle.

Edit to add: Miniature metal and plastic are both soft enough to drill out using just your fingers. It takes a little longer with metal of course. Don't use an electric drill it will not give you the precision control you need for such delicate work.

Have a set of weapons in store you can easily convert and chop, drill, file, since they are resin. Ye Olde Inn member 15% discount with code PASSTHEMEAD at checkout :D

Work well on the HQ monsters, goblins, orcs, undead etc. But not very glamorous for the heroes. ;)

If you really want to make/sculpt it (as you wrote) by yourself, use a piece of steel wire or a needle as armature. Drill a hole in the fist like described by Cynthia, glue the armature into it and model the sword around it. It's not a very complicated or organic form, after all.
For the modelleing material, google Milliput or Green Stuff - you can then find a local brand of similar matreial yourself.

If you are intent on sculpting, Green Stuff (Kneadite) is likley the stuff, using paperclips for armitures.

For a smaller fix, Thanto's kit s the way forward.

I've made swords out of flat styrene sheets, just cut to the rough size (leaving enough extra to hold on to) and file down. Much more consistent shape than sculpting.

I have made lances and spears from paperclips.

I have made no food from food.
I'd try cornixt's way first and then go from there as the tasks come along.

If I Google Search Thanto's Kit, I get only the earlier post. What is Thanto's Kit, and why is it not on the Internet?

Another search term to find mini weapons is "weapon sprue".
Or "Warhammer weapons".
