New Heroes
Beware Evil Wizard! HeroQuest heroes have arrived
The barbarian, the elf, the dwarf and the wizard... after a handful of plays, you must be a little tired of these guys. So let's play with HeroQuest four new Heroes, who completely escape the previous standards. Two serve to make the HeroQuest more equal - the Amazon and the the Fairy, two female characters, so that finally ladies can adventure; and the other two, the Minotaur and the Centaur, are fantastic creatures.
This team of new Heroes can be mixed freely with the existing heroes. They can not be used as eight Heroes against a single Evil Wizard in a normal Quest, as that would be an unequal struggle. Keep the limit of four Heroes, leaving some out. However, the Evil Sorcerer can prepare more difficult quests and allow eight Heroes to adventure together!

Minotaur
You are the Minotaur, part man and part bull. Your race is composed of valiant warriors who do not fear the enemy. You are as good a fighter as the Barbarian, and have more health and physical constitution - but your intelligence is the lowest of all Heroes.

Attack 3
Defend 2
Body 9
Mind 1
Speed 2 red
Starting equipment: Long Sword

Fairy
You are the Fairy, a magical creature. Your mystical merrymaking grants you the power to launch magic, with skill equal to that of the Wizard. But, like him, you cannot use much by way of armor and weapons.

Attack 1 white
Defend 2 white
Body 4
Mind 6
Speed 2 red
Starting Equipment: Dagger

Amazon
You're the Amazon, a warrior woman. A village has been set up where women learn how to handle weapons as well as men. your great agility, developed in the jungles allows you to better avoid attacks.

Attack 2 white
Defend 3 white
Body 6
Mind 4
Speed 2 red
Starting Equipment: Dagger

Centaur
You and the centaur, part man and part horse. The quickest of Heroes, you have three dice of movement, instead of two. You are also a good fighter, but you can not use any kind of armour.

Attack 2 white
Defend 2 white
Body 7
Mind 3
Speed 3 red
Starting Equipment: Short Sword

Just saw this, does the amazon get an extra attack die or is the dagger a typo?

The dagger doesn't increase your attack (bare handed is still one under NA rules... under Brazilian rules, I'm not sure?). A dagger can be thrown (and is lost when throw) for 1 combat die, however, so that makes sense. Daggers didn't exist under the EU rules. So were the Brazilian rules more like NA rules?

What confused me is the amazon is listed with two attack dice but also listed with a dagger. So something un ng is a typo. Or it has an extra attack and defend die.

Hi, as far as I know, Brazilian Edition rules are exactly the same as NA Edition rules... that's the reason I consider both Editions as the 'American' rules.

In case of dagger, of course it is also lost when thrown in Brazilian Edition:

I couldn't find the original card image, but didn't she have a spear instead? Maybe I'm thinking of a Homebrew version. I think the simplest fix is to change the starting weapon to a Shortsword.

Here you have the original character card...

Since Brazilian basic rules are the same as NA ones, I consider 2 attack dice is a misprint since she wields a dagger like the Wizard. Surprisingly, her art shows a sword instead of a dagger... maybe the misprint would be the dagger, and 'short sword' would be the correct starting weapon for her.

No tiny Dagger for an Amazon, I say. She fights like a man, not a Wizard.

"Artwork has the wrong weapon" isn't a problem. Normally they start with the miniature they want to use, then put up artwork to match, but the actual stats are different. Classic examples:

Barbarian (depicted with large two handed sword) starts with broadsword.
Dwarf (depicted wearing helmet and some type of armor with large single bladed axe) starts with shortsword.
Wizard (depicted with staff that has some kind of cane/wand type tip and with a cloak or cape) starts with a dagger.

The elf is really the only here that more or less starts with what his art shows. So I don't have a problem if it isn't an exact fit.

In these games, the text trumps the art anyway. Borin's Armor depicts a helmet but it doesn't include one. Arrows of night shows three projectiles but only attacks with 2 dice. Chainmail shows it being worn by what appears to be the wizard but he can't actually wear it.

Is that weapon art from the Brazilian version? I guess I've never seen that before.
