These are only collector's items though. I doubt the demand for HQ minis is much larger than the supply right now, so it's probabaly not worth the copyright owners forking out the set up costs of a single run (which would probabaly be enough) and the value would plummit.

As to that guy on ebay, the quality of his minis is quite low. I wouldn't consider buying any of his figures even at cost price. However, if he made perfect copies I would probably buy a few at market value (frozen horror, female elf, elf archer, elf swordsman, female barbarian, giant wolves, evil mage).

What I would really be interested in seeing is an accurate estimate of the number of HQ set owners and current players left on the earth.

I dunno about them not making money. I don't mean them selling just singular minis, I mean rereleasing the expansions. After all, the only reason I would buy the individual minis is because I can't afford the real expansions. I could be wrong, but I think the demand for this game is still there and it would only grow even bigger if it were commercially available again. That's just my two cents though. I do see what you mean though. Regardless, it makes me sad. Maybe I'll sell a kidney and buy the expansions on ebay then go drinking to celebrate, haha.
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.

I think the game did good because it was 1. Sold at walmart and 2. Had a commercial. Gotta get those kids while their young.

Couldn't agree with you more. Now we have something better than commercials, though. We have parents who can indoctrinate their children from the start, haha. Buuuuuuuuuuut, just realized we may have accidentally hijacked the thread. Back on track, I would absolutely buy recasts if offered them at a reasonable price, haha.

Hi,

Sinned (real name: Dennis) here.
I'm mostly a lurker on this forum but decided to register because I have a question regarding the recast miniatures.

Since I don't have the two US sets I found the ''white recasts made by an italian eBayer''; you've mentioned him several times in this thread.
Now, I was really thinking about buying a few (his eBay feedback is top notch)....but you guys are saying the quality of the minis is bad.
The eBay pix are a bit low quality, so how can you tell? Do some of you actualy have some of his recasts?

Any advice please?

If they're talking about the same recasts I've seen on eBay, pitting and bubbles are clearly evident in the pictures I've seen in the auction postings.

The quality is real bad. in my opinion don’t even think about it.

Soon, I’ll have completed the 4 wizards of zargon. If anyone have and is willing to send me miniatures of the expansions “against the ogre horde”, “mage of mirror”, “frozen horror”, I will send him back his minis plus a set of the four wizards in pewter.

Tell me if anyone is interested.

Take a look at my replicas. There are no bubbles or anything else, except the bases where technically is very difficult to be perfect (for example, the base of the orc shaman in the photo). Of course if you paint them you can’t find a difference from the original.

Are there images somewhere? I don't see them but I would like to. Also, I wish I could provide for the other expansions, sadly, I cannot.

Those are so cool!!!
Wantz it!

If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.
