That's actually not a bad HQ dragon - How many squares can he squeeze into?

looks like a 2x3 space, or maybe even a 3x3 space

BY THE WAY - make sure to look at Monsters by Torilen - I've got my updated HQ version of dragons, as well
as a dragon relative that would be fun to use. Very intimidating.

Perfect 2x3. I put my other dragon on a 4x4, but oddly they are about the same size, so they complement each other nicely. Not sure what colour to do it. I really want to paint it red, but I picture it as a cave dragon (hence not having wings) so blue or white would make more sense.

I've looked at your monsters suppliment, it#s very well thought through but I'm now thinking of simplifying all my monster rules to be more in line with the original HQ monsters. Like just giving the dragon 1 attack. I'm just giving it a tonne of extra body points and it'll gets enough opportunities to attack.

I think green would look great on that particular dragon.
But off course it also depends on how you've painted the rest of your minis.

A dragon kinda NEEDS a breath attack. I know noone asked for rules suggestions, but... well...
Could be cool if it had a normal attack, say 5-6 dice, and a breath attack.
The breath attack would work like the Lightning Bolt spell from Wizards of Morcar (all in a straight line is hit by 3 dice).
It needs the players to be lined up to be more effective than it's normal attack.

I like a cloud that fills 8-16 squares (depending on dragon size and power) better.
:)

The one time we used a dragon in our HQ game it had 3 different breath cards. The were in essence spell cards but whenever the dragon had used all three he could skip his attack and get all 3 back. The three cards were as follows.

Imolating Breath: Only in rooms. Roll 6 attack dice. Each Hero and Monster other than the dragon in the room must defend against an attack of power equal to the number of skulls rolled.

Freezing Breath: Target hero is attacked with 6 attack dice. He defends as normal. The hero is frozen for a number of turns equal to 1/2 the damage he takes (round down). A frozen hero looses his turn.

Acid Spit: Target hero is attacked with 6 attack dice. When defending the hero counts black shields instead of white shields due to the corrisive nature of the attack.

Our dragon also Moved up to 10 spaces (and could fly over spaces occupied by heros), rolled 6 dice to attack and 6 dice to defend (but counted all shields as successful defenses) and had 12 Mind and 12 Body.

He was fun, but we didn't get to play him enough to decide if he realy worked or not.

This is a great idea. But I'm going to do them as 3 different kind of fire attacks (plume, ball and something that fills the room). 3 different cards for each dragon, like 3 ice breath attacks for the cave dragon.

I got round to doing my dragon attack cards.

My rule is the dragon can use each one once per quest.

Any comments, ideas for these (I know the images a bit plop, but it's hard finding good ones.)
