Thanks again for more translations. I've left the buttons for expansions that weren't released in the Netherlands in English. I'll save the translations for future use should the contents of those sets be translated. This is what we've been doing in the other translated areas of the Website as suggested by the translators.

Re: Adventure Design Kit

Postby Sjeng » June 12th, 2012, 3:22 pm

I spotted some typo's in the Dutch translation of the adventure design kit:

Met de Ontwerp-set kun je zelf kerkers en gewelven verzinnen waar onoplettende Helden in de val lopen. Leg je monsters in een hinderlaag en plaats dodelijke vallen om de vervloekte Helden van de Koning te vernietigen...

a bit further on it says gewlven, should be gewelven as above.

Re: Nederlands/Dutch

Postby Sjeng » July 1st, 2012, 3:16 pm

I noticed some small errors:

1. the game master screen is the same as the UK one, so no need for coming soon ;)

2.:
Goud! (1 Red Die x10 pieces)
Goud! (10 pieces)
Goud! (20 pieces)
Goud! (25 pieces)
Goud! (25 pieces)
Goud! (50 pieces)
Heldendrank
Heilig Water
Juwelen!
Niets!
2x Geneeskrachtige toverdrank
Versterkende toverdrank
Toverdrank voor Snelheid
Toverdrank voor Kracht
Val! (hidden arrow)
Val! (hidden arrow)
Val! (pit)

pieces = stukken
(hidden arrow) = verborgen pijl
(pit) = valkuil (or) put
(1 Red Die x10 pieces) = (1x rode dobbelsteen x10 goudstukken)

the text is on the scanned Dutch cards. Also the jewels are 50 gold I think (see card)

Except the reverse is in Dutch. And... I still haven't gotten the UK one online either. :oops:

Thank you for these. I've changed them on the page. |_P

I can never be sure the proper grammar of words when used in different phrases, descriptions and situations. That's why I leave these for the experts. ;)
As for the jewels, there's only one type of jewel card. I've only listed the quantities for the gold cards because they all have the same title, but the text on the cards are different for each. Same with the hidden arrow traps. There's different texts on those cards too.

I'll try to remember scanning my master screen. I just thought of the inside text after I posted and left my pc. *doh*

Some tips for the Dutch Cards page:

an assassin could be translated into a "sluipmoordenaar" (stalking killer), we don't really have a word for assassin. "huurmoordenaar" could also be used, but that suggests he/she was hired, (hired assassin). Simply "moordenaar" means murderer. A bit too evil for a hero.
But I guess we could use the foreign word Assassina, simply not translating it, just like you would with a word like "dervish".

Dark elf = duistere elf
"Jij bent de duistere elf. Je bent opgegroeid in een wrede wereld vol verraad en bedrog. Je hebt de kunde om te vechten en om twee bezweringen te gebruiken per queeste. Je kunt geen zwaar ijzeren harnas dragen of bijlen gebruiken, en je kan ook geen gevallen helden tot leven wekken."

(PS: in English it is "donning" armor, not "dawning")

Executioner = Beul
"Jij bent de beul, een woeste krijger die geniet van het doden van de vijand. Eens per queeste mag je de Hand der Rechtvaardigheid oproepen om één vijand automatisch te doden die in je zichtsveld staat. Werp daarvoor met een rode dobbelsteen een hoger aantal ogen dan de levenspunten van het monster."

I don't think "magiër" has a female version, so "magistresse" isn't really a word, but hey, why not :P

Some cards say: W.D., some say Witte dobbelstenen, and some say Gevechtsdobbelstenen. I'd choose the last one for all cards.

Paladin = paladijn.
the female description is good, you can make a male version by just changing voorvechtster into voorvechter.

"available to enhance this character." = zijn beschikbaar voor dit karakter.

Ranger = Boogschutter
"Jij bent de boogschutter, beschermer van het bos tegen alle bedreigingen, in het bijzonder Orken en Kobolden. Tegen deze monsters mag je één extra gevechtsdobbelsteen werpen."

Sorceress = Tovenares
"Jij bent de tovenares, een vrouw wiens kracht slechts wordt overtroffen door haar schoonheid. Je bent geboren met een gave voor magie, en begint telkens met 4 spreuken, welke elk tweemaal per queeste gebruikt mogen worden. Net als andere magiërs kun je geen zware uitrusting dragen"
