I'm still getting it together, so I'm not quite ready to start yet - hopefully another couple of days.
However, I would like to post my idea and see if anyone is actually interested in playing this:
INTRODUCTION:
You find yourselves on a much needed leave from war and helping the Emperor fight the forces of Chaos. You all decided that the best place in which to spend your vacation would be the small, sleepy town of Loch Torese. The people here are extremely grateful for your service to the Crown, and seek to make you comfortable and relaxed any time you visit.
You have been staying at the town’s only inn, the Iron Apple. While Loch Torese is a small town, the inn is quite large, as it is well-known throughout this region of the Empire. Merchants, Nobles, and other adventurers make this their destination if they are within half a day’s travel. The inn’s front windows are famous: Crafted by an old dwarf glass-blower, formed into the picture of ivy and wisteria. At night, the firelight from inside the inn’s common room makes the flowers dance to and fro as if faeries enchanted them into life. The inn’s ale is legendary, the recipe originally crafted by the founder of the inn, kept a secret by his children and grandchildren and their children. Nearly every night, someone takes the honored space beside the enormous hearth and tells a few stories. On special, rare occasions, a professional story-teller visits the inn to spin a tale that none are able to ever forget.
It is late summer, nearly autumn. The day has been still and warm. The evening, however, has become somewhat cool for the time of year, and a breeze is blowing in from the northwest, bringing with it a chill and promise of a cold and snowy winter. An old, scraggly adventurer has just finished telling a tale of his days in wars of the past, and the common room is quiet. The fire flickers and cracks.
There is a loud pop from the hearth as a log splits open from the heat of the fire. Then, all of a sudden, from the darkness outside, a scream echoes through the streets of the sleepy town.
You rush out through the main doors and see someone standing in the street, pointing down a side street that leads to the eastern side of town. They scream again and shout “Undead!” for all to hear.
SETUP
Characters that will be available will be as shown below.
I will let you gear up the characters as you see fit -
whoever posts it first gets to do it. If you plan to post, I
might suggest saying so on the forum, so others will not
work on a character only to have you post first.
Use the gold amount given in the character description to purchase
the gear...the shop items are listed a little further down.
These characters have been through the equivalent of the
main quest pack, as well as the six official published
expansion quest packs. We'll assume that they worked
with the Emperor's army during the published events.
**I've decided to do it this way because it was so hard
to decide which character to give what artifacts from the
published games. Doing things this way makes it a little
more fair - especially if there are more than four characters.
I will take as many characters as players want to play. While
the game (like others on the forum) is open for any member to
play, you may have a particular idea in mind for a specific
character. Go ahead and put the character in; we'll make it
work. I would ask, however, that if you do not have a special
idea for a character - if you just want to be a player for this
game - please don't post a character. Just go ahead and use
those that are posted.
CHANGE MADE
Characters can use any weapons and/or armor they wish.
Spell casters must abide by casting rules, however. They
must have two hands free, or must be using some
sort of staff (staves can channel magical energies).
Spell casters must make a Casting Check if wearing certain
armors (see section for ARMOR SHOP for Casting Check rules)
CHANGE MADE
I would like to use my spell list - I've adapted it for HQ. I feel it
offers a lot greater options for spell casters, and will offer more
fun and enjoyment for the game.
Spell List is here (simply click the spell list link):

Training will be available based on how much gold the characters
gather as they make their way through the game. Basic game rules
apply - you may search each room/area once for treasure. Any gold
and/or treasure will be noted by me as it is found. Training options
can be found a little further down.
CHANGE MADE
I will be using a wider monster pool, as shown here:
(link will be here)
CHANGE MADE
Traps will require 1 or more successfully rolled dice to be disarmed.
I've also included locks and lock picking; locks will require 1 or
more successfully rolled dice to be picked.
CHANGE MADE
We will be using the weapon/armor damage system developed by Pheonix.
The instructions for that are here:
(link will be here)
CHANGE MADE
Characters can move up to 12 spaces (less depending on armor) - no need
to roll movement dice
