Loretome magazine published by our friends of HeroQuest Italia, has included on their issue 1 an article written by our legendary member Lestodante, where he explains the value of fanmade projects' quality and talks about this redesign project and the classic Barrow of the Beastmen one. You can read the full magazine by free on this link, which I strongly recommend:

Pilot issue 0 of the magazine can be also read on this other link, where there are other interesting articles:

You stated before that this is a difficult Quest.

My party (my son and his friends, ages from 8 to 12) just finished The Return of the Witch Lord.

They have also played the Base game and Kellar's keep. Their characters are mostly maxed out, 5 defense and 3-5 attack, the wizard also has the double spell casting, staff and everything offered in the bae set. Orc's Bane was destroyed by the mist that destroys magical items but they still have Borrn's armour and the Spirit Blade.

I am thinking of playing them the Dark Company quests as a farewell for their party, possibly clearing the mega dungeon and the King granting it to them as their own, so that they retire as lords. I am planning to play all the quests in a long weekend with a sleepover most probably.

Then they will start ATOH with fresh character and continue from there.

Is the quest challenging enough? They are not tactical geniuses but they have learned to play the game pretty well and sometimes, they cannot be harmed at all.

Best regards,
ZiNOS

Hi, thanks for asking!

HeroQuest is a game where luck with dice always matters, but my bet is your party is experienced enough to play my redesign of The Dark Company. They could suffer a bit in a few challenging rooms, especially in the final combat against Hinsgrim and Delzarron, but I think they can succeed.

If you finally play it, please share your experience with us! Have a great questing!
