you probably miss this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/292684907374

I don't know why they think it is worth +5.000, my value for each piece, considering that they must be in very good shape, is:

HeroQuest Dark Company 150-200
Advanced Hero Quest 200 (almost unpunched)
Terror in the Dark 200? (unpunched)
Wizards of Morcar 400 (unpunched tiles and minis)
Against the Ogre horde 300 (tiles unpunched)
Barbarian Quest Pack 400 (tiles unpunched, the rest is normal)
Elf Quest Pack 500 (unpunched but damaged box)
Adventure Design Kit 50
Kellar's Keep 90 (sealed)
Return of the Witch Lord 90 (sealed)
Puzzle Kellar's keep 30
Puzzle Witch Lord 30

Total: 2.490 (MAXIMUM, no more...)

For HQ Advanced Quest edition, that's insane!

To be honest, unless it from someone I know anymore...I just don't feel safe buying
ANY HQ items for high prices. I know they are kind of worth it, being way out of print
and all - but with the propensity for 3-d printing, there are enough unscrupulous people
out there who would pawn off homemade figures for real ones.

Cynical, yes. But, if you think about it ... ... ...

I really don't think these are prices that will hold up. They were mass market games. 30 years later there will be lots in attics gathering dust and as it's mass market stuff easy to copy with modern tech . I do think its a generational thing as there is a resurgence of interest in board gaming and people who had it as kids now have jobs and purchase it out of nostalgia. I doubt it would be a long term investment if that is whats driving the market. 20 odd years ago I collected prewar model trains -since the generation of collectors who grew up with them are slowly no longer here the market has reduced it's values. I like Heroquest as a game with no doubt some nostalgia but would I pay such high prices ?absolutely not.

Absolutely Okko!

But question is, are even nostalgic old farts buying the games at these prices?
I saw a FH set mid-auction at ~£300, but that's still a whole other league than $10.000 for this premium package:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/HEROQUEST-USA-ALL-GAMES-NEW/113231013041?hash=item1a5d1824b1:g:YzUAAOSwVNxZ5tFK

That's $2000 per box! And three of the five boxes are just the game system, KK and RotWL!

The question is how many sell to enthusiasts of the game? Personally I would not want a shrinked packed because you can't see what you are getting and I can not understand why you would keep jkeep it wrapped.

I got Frozen Horror and Mage in the mirror in about 2002 off ebay for $200 and $210 dollars respectively. The exchange rate was alot better, about 1.8 dollars to the pound, but I still thought that was alot of money back then. I had less of it as well. But I was absolutely desperate to have them to play.

If I was in the same situation now, would I buy them? Probably yes for $500-800. 5000? No way.
