Thank you for this! I thought I was alone with that assessment of a collector's market (in almost ANY field).

No, you are not alone! I also did a post on my blog about buying sealed packs!
Of course you must be very unlucky, but sometimes errors in the package may occurr. But in the past you could return it to the shop and claim for a new one.
This is the link to the post: http://myheroquest.blogspot.com/2016/12 ... d-box.html
Also, if you buy a sealed pack you pay it a lot more but as soon as you open it to check the content, its value is almost reduced to half of what you've paid!

It looks like there is an artificial attempt to inflate the market prices on eBay. Stick on a load at stupid prices and then one at a cheap price and the frenzy takes the price up. Others see the price and think theirs isis also worth a fortune.its always happened in the collectors market. The problem with this is sooner or later the general consensus is "hang on this is not worth that!) Or it no longer is the flavour of the month,
And the price plumits. Would be interesting to know if the same names are selling stuff "shrinked wrapped" all the time.

Shrink wrapped also doesn't automatically mean new.

And if it is new, I don't understand. I had the luck to buy a new Space Crusade some years ago. First thing I did was opening it! No delay!

you are right Anderas, I've seen some shrink wrapped box for sale at high price but seriously squashed!
Immediately I sent a message to the seller asking if he could remove the cellophane and open the box to chek if the content is still intact or also squashed

*Mint In Sealed Box, Nice Crisp Sound When Shaken*
God, I hate some of these collectors' markets.
