I’m very excited for this pack! Truly we are living in an HQ Renaissance.

I also think they're not making a great effort considering how the Game System was plagued with mistakes that have been known for 30 years, but you can see from the photos there are at least minor differences in the title, so who knows...

I agree they probably won't do much if anything to address the errata in BQP, but we'll still try to spread awareness of those issues!

If they simply deleted the line about the Solo Quests being a good option for a brand new Barbarian or brand new HeroQuest player, that might help head off some criticism, and the Yeti mechanic going back to earlier drafts...

But Luca, other than the Orc Warlord treasure chest trap goof up, what other NA Game System mistakes (that weren't addressed in the remake) were you thinking of? Not to derail the thread, but I was curious if there were some others missed that ought to have been corrected.

A few things popped up, the chest, quest 3 pit trap, the missing door in ROTWL or the two cupboards, even the fact that the Armory is referenced but doesn't exist anymore, or the orcs with larger swords. All found in the errata thread already. :)

by the way, checked the back if the new box and it actually mentions solo quests, so yeah, we're going towards the lowest effort route.

I was being a nitpicker, but I thought you meant there were other 1990 game system errors that hadn't been fixed in 2021! I wasn't counting new things that were introduced that weren't errors back in the day or expansion issues.

So only the Quest 3 pit/chest confusion introduced in the NA edition and never officially fixed...

I would say the 1990 edition had some VAGUE areas that it would have been nice if they had been clarified... and because the Wizard Quest pack never came out (until we come along!), their erasing the reasoning for why the Wizard should save his gold makes sense. I would say the clarifications we did get (in EQP/BQP) were a good start...

It's true that I would have taken the Wizard sentence out altogether at that point. Why should he save? Is he just stingy? Will he have to bail out the Barbarian after a tavern brawl?

The Wizard is a collector of rare and ancient artifacts, even if they have not any magical power (but he naively thought they had when buying them), so he needs as much money as possible to happily see how grows his unuseful stuff :-)

Certainly new glitches introduced aren't welcome in the remakes.

I guess the fact that they let the Wizard use the hand axe is a mistake in the hero's favor (to make up for him being weaker in the NA edition than the EU edition that buyers in Europe would be getting).

The whole idea of having a single unified hybrid edition to give to the world was a tricky proposition but they seem to have been doing it fairly well so far.

*Mind blown!* this awesome! and bloody hell it took a good while to read the whole 31 pages of the thread - I might be up for a divorce!
