Seems that it would be best to just make a pit trap underneath where they stand. Perhaps take an additional BP of damage or roll 3 Combat Dice that can't be defended and they lose their next turn (as if they had actually stumbled into a pit trap) or simply following the rules for a "Deep Pit Trap" as seen in AtOH.
Just a thought...
