A tiny sneak peek. I would like some feedback on language, grammar and clarity.

Image

And once again as text for easy editing:

Mirror Images
The caster creates 2 duplicates
of himself in the same room or
corridor. The duplicates has the
same stats as the caster, but all
three characters have their max
BPs reduced to 1/3 rounded up.
Any remaining spells are not
duplicated, but shared between
them. Neither is the “real” caster.

Silver Lightning

This spell may be cast on any one
monster or player. The target must
defend against 4 combat dice. The
spell then leaps to another character
in the same room or corridor. The
amount of combat dice is then
reduced by 1. It keeps leaping until
the amount of dice is zero or there
is no other character to leap to.

Splinters
This spell may be cast on any
one monster or player. The
target is hit by a number of
magical splinters. Roll 1 red
die to determine the amount.
The target must defend like
normal against that amount of
combat dice.

The duplicates have the
same stats as the caster,
but the caster's maximum BP are divided
between all three figures and then rounded up
.
Any of the three figures may cast spells from the caster's spell deck.
None of the three figures is "the real" hero.

Seems unclear if the spells are assigned to the three figures,
so that each of them has their own, or, like in how I've worded it,
the deck stays one and each spell can be cast by either figure.

The other two are pretty clear to me and well worded.

The duplicates have the same stats as the caster...

Neither means none of two, so it implies that neither of the duplicates are real caster, the real caster is the original.

I think Silver Lightning would be better if each new target has to be in LOS of the previous target.

It's how you worded it.

Fixed in kk's wording |_P

Better for understanding how it works or better as a mechanic? Why?

I kinda agree with GB because the spell can then spread out of the room or corridor the first target is in.
But that's really a matter of taste, completely up to you.
You just have to know if in context with other spells or the quest and hero levels, this change will make the spell overpowered.

Better as a mechanic because it would need los to jump to a new target without hitting someone else first.

It's a downgrade as well. It would be able to leave the room or corridor but it could be blocked.

The way GK has worded it, the spellcaster can choose any 4 figures as the targets provided they are in the same room or corridor.
Meaning it isn't automatically the nearest figure.
I'd wanna keep that picking mechanism.

I didn't mean the nearest. For the first target pick a figure in sight of the caster, for the second target pick a figure in sight of the first target, for the third target pick a figure in sight of the second target, etc.

Still picking by the spellcaster then. I guess both ways make sense.

Cool spells, just some random thoughts on naming.

I'm lost on why it is "Silver Lightning". Why not call it what it is... "Chain Lightning". Or if you are worried about D&D copyrights "Lightning Chain", "Chain of Lightning". Or "Lightning of Wrath"

Mirror Images implies the duplicates are left handed, part their hair to the other side, read backwards, etc. How about "Multiply", "Divide and Conquer", or "Clones"?
Has resigned from the forum and would delete his account if he could.
