That would be great, and this list can be my contribution. It sounds like Nephew of Mentor already has a lot of information compiled. I would suggest that like my list, a wiki should be confined to official game releases. If you decide to include other material published in various books and magazine I'm afraid it would be too cumbersome and less useful. There will also have to be a way to accommodate the difference in the NA and EU back stories and character names.

I just finished the characters from the Barbarian Quest Pack. As I go through each quest book I'm constantly adding to Zargon's dastardly deeds. He's quite relentless

I have mostly the names, and what pages in which books to include, I did actually go so far as to look into all the magazines and comics as well, though the only thing lacking are some of the things from the screaming spectre choose your own adventure. Not cannon, I know, but still potentially useful in for game inspiration.

edit: oh, and I too am willing to assist, though I don't know much about modifying or adding to a wiki, I imagine it isn't hard though.
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.

I've completed the list of named characters from the North American Game System and Quest Packs.

I was planning to include the European releases, but I'm thinking that a separate list would work better due to compatibility issues.

For instance, while Zargon and Morcar are essentially the same character, Morcar was never the villain behind the Barbarian and Elf Quest Packs so that information would need to be removed from his listing, as would the Europe only expansions for Zargon. Then there's the difference in stats with the European characters all having one body point and no Chaos Spells. A few have different names as well. There's even some difference in the flavor text. For instance, in the conclusion the European version of Return of the Witch Lord, Sir Rangar turned to Chaos before being captured in executed. This was left out of the North American version.

Unless someone has a better idea, I'll start working on separate list of characters for the European game system and expansions.

I'm with you on that.
Personally I'm gonna use the NA stats you're compiling. The European (German) ones are incredibly week, as you say, with 1 BP and without any spells.
But for those who actually want to use the European versions and maybe get a figure for each boss monster, a separate list definitely makes sense.

I'd just include the NA character name and quest for comparison and cross-referencing.

Or you make a chart to boot...

No, don't make separate lists. Isn't the whole point to gather all information in one place. It'll be easier to compare if the information is in the same place too.
And I very much think Morcar was indeed behind Sinestra and Big Mozzy. Zargon = Morcar. They are 100% the same.
The difference is in real life - NOT in-game. Had we gotten the expansions in Europe he would have been renamed back to Morcar.
Write all information into one article.

I made a couple of examples:

Wardoz (Karlen in Eu): The Emperor’s personal Wizard. Consumed by chaotic magic he was experimenting with and turned into a mindless zombie. (GSQ 7)
Stats: Same as a standard Zombie

Balur: Fire Mage who assisted the Orcs of the Black Mountains in using fire magic during their raids. He is resistant to fire magic and his lair is deep beneath Black Fire Crag. His destruction was ordered by the Emperor (GSQ 8)
Stats: Movement: 8, Attack: 2, Defend: 5, Body: 3 (1 in Eu), Mind: 7
Spells: Ball of Flame, Firestorm, Tempest, Summon Orcs, Fear and Escape
In Eu version Balur has the three fire spells, which in turn can't be used by the heroes.

Well, if you look at virtually any wiki, an entry that has multiple names can have multiple headings. You have "Zargon/Morcar" and then describe the backstory and history which both Europe and America include, insinuate, or are completely compatible. Then have a heading for American differences, and a heading for European differences. It would be a little work, but with a bunch of people contributing it might not be so bad.
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". On second thought, Goblin-King is right.
One document works best, but with cross-referencing where necessary, of course.
Will this be in alphabetical or chronological order?

I agree as well.

I plan to continue with an alphabetical list as the expansions are not necessarily in chronological order. Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord take place after the game system quests and Wizards of Morcar is after Against the Ogre Horde, but beyond that it's up in the air.

As nice as the localized version are, I also plan to use the offical UK versions of the EU only quests.

So, it's gonna be like this?

Morcar - evil blablablah etc.
...
...
Zargon - US-name for Morcar (see entry Morcar for further information)
