Looking at your game system comparison thread, you have this wrong.


If you look deep inside, you will see it is the OTHER bookshelf as the skull is in the back on the shelf. the one pictured with the new one here is not included in the new game.

technically it is a meld of both shelves and at the same time neither of the original shelves, they just took parts they like and kept those parts and remade new shelves.

If I can get my scanner to work, I will be trying to scan each piece of furniture flat to see what details are inside. Currently it doesnt want to work because it has no ik... who cares, I aint buying ink for this thing anymore, a scanner shouldnt require ink in the printer portion to SCAN things!

I dont want to have to dig in the closet for the Windows 95 flatbed scanner because i got no place to put it near the PC, I need to be able to use the wireless scanner.

so far it seems only the barbarian has molded base terrain. which confuses me why this reddit post shows textured flagstone under the orc.

The Dragon also has a terrain base, but that orc is custom someone cut those flagstone grooves.
Yeah the scrolls pile are missing from the new one which was on the book case #1, the top edge is different, etc. It pretty much is a new sculpt loosely inspired by the two originals.

There is no such things as dragons in HeroQuest, I don't care what a bowl of Joe Macaroni thinks.

And If I ever get my copy and able to make a video review or series of reviews.. Joe aint going to like what I have to say about his quest, or him.

So all the monster bases are just flat circles except for those 2 then? is it only the male Barb, or Barbie the Female Barb is also playing Captain Morgan like the orc "hero"?

Are you going to compare the female heroes even though we dont have those expansions for the new game? or do you not have those expansions with our blue heroes from the original game?

You're quite right that there are no dragons in the classic hero quest game... however there are certainly dragons in the Warhammer fantasy (3rd edition, 1991*) setting upon which it was loosely based, and one does feature as (Spoilers) a contemporary creature still living (albeit in hibernation) during the "official" Fellowship of Four novel also from '91. Of course there are those who say Dave Morris's novels shouldn't be considered canon, so there you go...

Not making excuses for the guy shoehorning in another cliched fantasy element, just saying!

*I posted the wrong date for 3rd edition as predating HQ in an earlier post about gnomes, but if I could check 2nd edition I could tell you if dragons were there pre-HQ (1987).

. . . The "non-metal armor" restriction makes the Bracers a useful piece to buy not just for the Wizard. Warlock has same restrictions as the Wizard. Druid "can't wear metal armor" (does that mean no helmet either?). Since the Wizard's cloak says only the Wizard can wear it, that implies the Warlock can wear it but the Druid can't, assuming the preview is still accurate on those descriptions.. . .

Correct--no helmet for the Druid. The Rust dread spell card makes clear a helmet is metal.

Going through that latest video, it looks like the quest Lair of the Orc Warlord is still exactly the same. Still says to use the orc with the large sword for Ulag. We don't have a unique orc in the new set. Something that they overlooked maybe?

We do have a unique orc if you are one of the people that got Mythic. Just use that one. For everyone else, they will be confused.

Again these mistakes are sign they either rushed, copied verbatim to appease those of us that wanted a reprint, not a reboot, or they are just using Pulse backers as guinea pigs and made them pay to beta test the game before retail.

Heoric backers could jsut use Ragnar for Ulag.

Retail buyers will jsut have to go buy a mini for it.

With the way these are made, It would be silly not to ty to sell these minis for the base game and expansions in small sets of orcs, goblins, etc for people to upgrade their games and to get people from RPG-land to buy them. These are the grunts that people often need lots of and an easy way to get some decent ones and for HASBRO to bring in that money directly instead of through WizKids for their "deep cut" and "framework" series which are mostly special characters not the rank and file.

Yes, we could use the Mythic mini for Ulag. The point I'm trying to make is that no one should have to rely on a Mythic Tier exclusive in order to properly follow the rules in the base game.

One thing that was promised when they announced the remake and did their Q&A was that they were not going to change the rules EXCEPT to improve or clarify them. So far, from what I've seen, the rules remain unchanged from the original. So it seems that they rushed through production carelessly and didn't deliver on this promise.

That’s hilarious. Almost as bad as the “made in China” printed right over the new tile.
I saw this remake as a cold hearted cash grab from a big company that has no love for the original game, and stuff like this isn’t doing anything to change my mind.

deadgamer's video on the GS quest book comparison wasn't zoomed in enough for me to read all the text so I missed the issue with Ulag. It's true that there are even distributions of Orc types in this new version. There are two each of the two "sword type" Orcs, rather than one unique one, in the remake. You shouldn't have to rely on using the Bard or one of the bonus unlock "Hammer" orcs, but you could use just about anything really.

Good point about using Sir Ragnar since everyone who ordered the game (even Heroic Tier) gets him. But yeah, a red figure of a bearded human to represent an Orc leader. Or could use the gray Dread Sorcerer, a standard figure everyone who ordered would have access to.

Hey I know, put the "Zargon pumpkin face" tile next to his figure! Finally a use for it...

Someone should probably start up a new "Remake Edition Errata" thread with this and the Quest 3 trap error being re-copied. Please though let's not derail this thread with rants and such. We're trying to collect information on the product, less debates over what it should have been.
