as I was sayiyng, they changed on the cards too.
Here are 3 cards from both 1989 and 1990 deck.

Nice. We don't have scans of the 1st Edition cards on the Inn main pages, do we? I think it would be interesting to play a full Premiere Edition rules game...

I have a friend who regularly brags about how his nephew did this exact thing while the little guy was Zargoning the Witch Lord and he was playing the Elf... who also had the Spirit Blade. GAME OVER.

Pertaining to line of sight we ignored it while opening doors. When you opened a door onto a room (or hall) every [non secret] thing in that room (or hall) was immediately placed on the board. But once it was on the board we followed the line of sight rules to the best of our ability without straight edges to make sure that the long diagonal shot through four doors suggested by the barbarian was actually not clipping any corners.

Which means they’d fail the quest. And need to run through another quest that miraculously found another Spirit Blade. Or put it in a random chest or piece of furniture somewhere in the dungeon

Or you find a spell scroll with "pass through rock" and you can get a high enough roll (maybe a potion of speed too, granted, you'd have to have the house rule that those both exist together) to retrieve the blade off of the "imprisoned corpse" Hero and use it to finish the quest.



Side Question: isn't it true that Sir Ragnar is the only "NPC" (I guess I should say "non-Hero good guy character") in the GS+KK/ROTWL ? If so, then its really the other expansions and published or home-brew quests that give us all these extra good guy characters. Still, it presents some questions about what you're supposed to be able to do with him.

It seems pretty specific in the quest. The player for the hero who opened the door to the cell does the die roll and moves Sir Ragnar. The defining point is that they would move their hero first, then move the NPC. If their model can’t move (because the hero is dead) they’d just immediately move to the “moving sir Ragnar”. Sir Ragnar isn’t in condition to fight, so he can only defend, and only rolls 1D6 to move.

Seems to me that one should be able to heal and equip Sir Ragnar when he is discovered.

Only 2 Body Points left...tells me he has more and I would wager 1 less than Arctic Wastelands Barbie gets ... Certainly the chance to make him a capable fighter should exist

After having likely been tortured and starved by his captors maybe for months, and there being no official way to change equipment in a dungeon ... I’m pretty sure that a stiff wind would blow him over.

What if I walked up and handed him a helmet? Maybe he's too weak to carry a shield...

I let the other Heroes heal him 1 body point.

Maybe he only has a max of 2 BP ... and can be healed up with spells? Most monsters only have 1 BP?
