Big news day for HQ!

Bummer if you don't have a smart phone, unless they are releasing a desktop version...

At least it appears to be free...

On the subject of the retail release, it looks like Cosmic Games have been waiting for this day after posting about the Italian version before Hasbro wanted them to:

Nice reporting everyone!! |_P |_P |_P
SIR MANFRED IS CALLING! (even if he's played by a Dread Sorcerer in heroic box). <--- I hope they don't change his name, that will be a big shock to Italian players.

Yeah, these game shops getting info before anyone else and maybe not releasing it at the right time. My local game shop basically said wait until the big guy is back during the week and he might know.

I see the app has some new art that might be right at home on cards...

I guess I could try running the app off the (super slow) bluestacks emulator on my desktop.

Forgot to post the full story on the Cosmic Italian group thing, oops:

Cosmic Games

When our friends at Hasbro gave us the opportunity to distribute a fully translated version of the legendary HeroQuest, the writer, an old gamer who grew up on bread and dungeons and toy soldiers, couldn't stop himself from making a post to announce the wonderful news.

Then came the pull of ears from Hasbro marketing which, more than rightly, reminded us that, great enthusiasm huh? But things must be done in a modino way, and the announcement for the localization of the adventures of the Barbarian, the Dwarf, the Magician and the Elf, in various European languages, should have been done in a global way first by them, and then by the distributors. of the various nations.

For this reason, we have obscured the first post and we have more or less patiently waited for the green light to announce the good news.

This thing has unleashed all hell, a mass of conjectures has been unleashed by those who, like us in the first person, adore this game.

We were inundated with emails, phone calls, messages on social media, carrier pigeons and all kinds of letters with a single question: "Will HeroQuest be in Italian?".

We bit our knuckles, unable to respond by contract, while in the meantime some rosicone spread poison for speculative purposes.

But finally here we are, we can scream at the top of our lungs.

Yes, HEROQUEST ARRIVES IN ITALIAN !!!.
Completely in Italian, from the manual to the papers, all printed in the Italian language.

Pre-orders are open from today, tell your trusted dealer to rush to pre-order it from Cosmic Group.

And it doesn't stop there, we are preparing a range of support activities, from an organized play circuit to insights into the history of the world's hottest dungeon crawler. From painting courses to make your miniatures even more spectacular to a massive presence at fairs. Going through limited edition miniatures and giveaways.

In short, 2022 will be the year of HeroQuest, now sit back and take a deep breath, the game arrives in January.

Of course, from Cosmic Group!

Good to hear it will appear in other languages!

The hits just keep on coming... a new trailer on Hasbro Pulse youtube (amended to the previous preview trailer , so new stuff at that end).

Basically the voice-over is the same, it's just close-ups of the minis and cards are no longer the CGI mock-ups but the real thing and they show the board as well.

Here

I see a pattern of knocking over the dead monsters (checkmate style). The trailer is cool, showing the finial versions of things, but sadly it still shows a CGI rounded corner die (as a screen transition, thankfully they do show the final square cornered dice a few seconds later). Too bad we didn't get those preview dice!

Here's another video narrated by Stephen Baker on Avalon Hill's Twitter page. It's embeded in their announcement for the Commander of the Guardian Knights:

Nice little story of one particular Guardian Knight. So they're not all just noble guardians, some of them are out for vengeance (Golden Axe style) for the slaughter of their families by "Dread" forces. Artwork shows many of them, shows one taking her place by three heroes (still 4 heroes per game implied).

Though if that's the Commander, I wonder what she's doing with the Heroes wandering around dungeons on missions... shouldn't she be at the front leading her men? Unless she got kicked out or re-assigned for this quest(s).

Flurry of updates. Email came in saying Retail is official for pre-order and advertising the Companion App.
