Warhammer is a different game, just similar because of the GW involvement with HQ. They had names and pictures available so they used some. If something was an "official HQ" release then I will accept it. Contradictions and all.

That's how I feel as well.

I was looking over the maps. Found a few. Saw the lower regions, deserts, etc. Is there a HQ equivalent for Egypt and the surrounding lands? Copher maybe?

Araby, sort of. More specifically, the Land of the Dead, especially Khemri.

For HeroQuest, is there anywhere I can look at a history or timeline? Even if such a thing included OldHammer/Oldschool WarHammer?
I know that there seems to be a fairly realized order of events with the Quests, where things like "remnants of the Ogre Horde" appear in the Wizards of Zargon quest books indicating that the Against Ogre Horde Quest Set occurs prior to it.

So my order so far with the main games and expansions and bonus quests is:
"The Maze"
"The Gathering Storm" aka The Main Game System (starting w/ "The Trial")
Kellar's Keep
Return of the Witch Lord
"Plague of Zombies"
Against the Ogre Horde
"Inn of Chaos"
Wizards of Zargon
"Running the Gauntlet"
The Frozen Horror
"Revenge of the Weather-Mge"
"A Growl of Thunder"
Mage in the Mirror
"The Halls of Durrag-Dol"
"The Eyes of Chaos"
The Agin's Inn Contestant Quests
Return of the Witch Queen
Eve of Chaos
Vengeance for Vengeance
Dark Company

I'm trying to compile as much as I can into one collected volume.
Also I'm going to try working with my cousin (who makes and binds books as a hobby) to create a book for said collection. And try our best to make it resemble the book Mentor is holding on the GM screen

HeroQuest is set in the Warhammer's Old World geographically,
but it is an alternate timeline, with things diverging even before Sigmar,
so it is very hard to find un-contradictory very old history in Warhammer publications that still hold true for HeroQuest.
Basically, you almost have to derive everything concerning HQ history from HQ publications.

Have you read a lot of Marvel Comic books?
The main line takes place in the shared universe Earth-616, but there are stories taking place in alternate realities, like the Ultimate Universe.
Very similar to what we have to apply to HQ after MB got their hands on GW licenses and then spiced them up with their own things.

Oh I get the difference between alternate timelines. I'm quite familiar with things like DC Comics and Marvel and Star Trek, Slider, Doctor Who, etc.
I just wanted to include it, if it somehow gave me access to more locales and somehow enriched whatever backstory/lore I was going to sort of try to develop.

Any oldhammer wiki page or a place that has a list of all the world-building and background documents?
Bestiary and mythology?
Like a oldhammer encyclopedia?
