Fascinating stuff and nice work there! I'll have to look that over and read the links you posted. Good research... |_P

Awesome props to Dave Morris for releasing all three of his HQ novels free online! |_P |_P |_P
(in PDF or Doc format, so the complete text minus the illustrations, but that's fine... they were just copies of the game's card/character sheet/box artwork in the first place... and he did include the novel versions of the character sheets, the hand drawn stuff).

That is great, so these novels are now officially out there much like the Lonewolf and Greystar books (via Project Aeon).

Edit: the actual "Hero Quest" maps are left out, but those (both the quest maps and the drawing of the "old world") can be found elsewhere.

Yeah I did take a bit of poetic license with the regional borders and roads, but the rest of it was essentially clarified by Dave. Like you mentioned, some of the areas are a little difficult to read so sent the map through to him to correct any mistakes I had made.

Hi. The name of the dark tower where Morcar met the four wizards at the beginning of Wizards of Morcar's quest pack is Kaltrac.

As far as I know, the name of the tower is not mentioned in the quest book, BUT fortunately it is mentioned in the back of WoM expansion's box :-)

It can be easily checked here.

P.D.: Mmm... then, we can suppose that Kaltrac Tower is part of the Morcar's 'citadel', or even the name of the citadel itself, where the four wizards are defeated by the heroes in the last quest of WoM expansion, isn't it?

Cool pic, I hadn't seen that before... those look like the metal miniatures painted (notice the different base and poses for the halberdier and swordsman).

Very good spot HispaZargon. You’re the first person at the Inn to pin down the name of Morcar’s citadel. Kaltrec is also undoubtably the location for the Final Conflict in that quest pack.

Yeah, I think so! In my opinion Kaltrac is a quite appropriate name for our villain's lair. :)

Every Hero Quest official item, including boxes, can provide valuable information, especially about those kind of details so, it is recommended to also check them if posible.

Dreadaxe this is excellent. It's a variant on the map that appeared earlier in this thread I believe. Would it be easy to edit it? Because there are a couple of errors (not many though), such as Durrag Dol and the Ogres hang out I think.

Presti70 wrote:I made my personal Heroquest map with the following rules (english from google translator):
Image
Each numbered black dot, marks the location of each quest.

CAMPAIGN MAP
Use the Campaign Map to move the Heroes into the world of Heroquest, spend coins on daily board and lodging, track the time for daily routes and heal wounds by resting in taverns...
Each green, yellow or orange dot represents a place where it is possible to camp (the small white dots indicate the roads and are not considered).
Yellow dots represent small Villages, Green the Cities and Orange the Fortress.
It is possible to buy Equipment and Mercenaries only in the cities.

DAILY ROUTES
Walk: 1 location.
Mule: 2 locations.
Horse: 3 locations.

For example, from Nuln to Altdorf, it takes 3 walking days; 2 days on a mule and 1 day on a horse.

PRICES
1 litre of Ale/Beer/Wine: 1 gold
Daily fodder: 1 gold
Lodging in a Inn : 1 gold
Daily Meal: 3 gold
Mule/Donkey: 100 gold
Horse: 1.000 gold
Horse War: 3.000 gold

SPONTANEOUS HEALING
Every hero who has suffered injuries heals 1PC or 1PM of his choice on a daily basis, but only if he rests comfortably in a home, inn or in any other comfortable and sheltered place (for example, if a hero has lost 5 PCs, he can recover through spells/potions or resting 5 days in an inn).
A hero can rest freely at any location with his own resources, but he inhibits his spontaneous healing.

DAILY MEALS
Anyone who does not consume each day a ration of Daily Meal, loses 1 PC and inhibits his Spontaneous Healing. The cost of each daily meal is 3 gold coins (whether it is a fresh or long-life meal).

NOTE
At the beginning of their first adventure (The Trial), each Hero receives 50 gold coins. Make good use to pay food and housing ...

Some questions and ideas
  • No rules for beer? Maybe it's only roleplay idea
  • No rules for the warhorse? Maybe it's only roleplay idea
  • No rules for bridges?
  • No rules for perils?
  • No rules for fortresses? Or only a location where you can take a break for restore Body points
  • "1PC or 1PM" Body points and Mind points?
  • "for example, if a hero has lost 5 PCs, he can recover through spells/potions or resting 5 days in an inn" how do you use spells between quest, how do you restore spells?
  • The map does not necessarily indicate the quest references. Unlike this:
    Gathering Storm
    1-Mentor's Domain
2-Lair of the Fire Mage (GS:Q8)
    3-The Stone Palace (GS:Q10)
    4-Bastion of Chaos (GS:Q11)
    5-Ancient Temple (GS:Q13)
    6-Barak Tor (GS:Q12&14)
    7-Fellmarg's Tomb(GS:Q1)
    8- Orc Cave (GS:Q2)
    9-Gulthor Lair (GS:Q4)
    10-ULAG Lair (GS:Q3)
    11-Garak's Lair(GS:Q6)
    12-Underground Laboratory (GS:Q5)
    13-Wardoz's Study (GS:Q7)
    14-Underground Dungeon (GS:Q9)
