... what about their equipment?
If you don't give them the free cards, maybe they are more in the need for treasure hunt?

Will you use your selfmade EWP Deck with all the cards you have presented?

Players feel worse about getting a toy and subsequently losing it than they do about not having that toy in the first place, even though the first situation is strictly superior to the second.

Ah well. The EWP giveth; the EWP taketh away. Cursed be the name of the EWP.

Yes and no.
I will not use them all as some were gag cards just for giggles. To make it more interesting and a challenge for me I will pull 10 random Evil Wizard Cards from the larger deck for the game, shuffle them and play with just what comes to hand. Once I run out of cards it is what it is.... I will not know which of the cards I will have available and who knows what grouping of cards will come up. I could get a handful of Red Cards (bad for EWP) and the heroes could make out like bandits, or I could pull a bunch of doom and gloom for the players.
The Wizard {Gym Nasium, the Mage} is pretty stout, so I will have to properly equip the other heroes. It would be counter to our fun to not play Gym, he has seen so much horror and has been the sole survivor of some quests.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.
