I think you got some great finds there i really like your frozen horror and the second choice for the giant wolves would be awesome for replacing a hero with curse of the werewolf I really think you did your home work you got some really good options for like 400$ less  that necromancer is even cooler than fanrax the one without the scythe

Reaper makes some really nice minis. The problem with Reaper minis are the inconsistent scales they use. You never know what you're gonna get and how it compares with HeroQuest miniatures unless you see them side-by-side. I've taken about 176 pictures of reaper minis standing by the HeroQuest Heroes for size comparisons. I will hopefully post them this Friday.

I got a handful of them, thinking they'd fit somewhat OK at least. The only one I use is the female dwarf, even though she's way too big. I figure you'll never see them both in play at the same time, so

* edit- Oh, the ogre I got seems OK too.

Having already spent some time on these before drathe's post above, I'm posting them anyway.

a little tall
Image

Even without the skulls, really tall (the sword and staff have really really narrow bits that don't want to stay straight for me. Yes, I've tried hot water with a quick cool down)
Image

female elf staring at her feet, taller than barbie
Image

can hardly tell she's female, but if you say she's a human wizard/sorceress in heels I'll believe you
Image

Just a tad tall, too bad, I really liked that one...well maybe not too tall after all. I can see her as Sinestra. (If I didn't already get one from Bill)
Image

Thought he could pass as the Witch Lord. Even though he's floating (that is cloth dangling to the floor) he is way too big for HeroQuest. I M O
Image

hmmm I believe I have heard it said they prefer large, hairy women

It's not Reaper Bones, but check out my home mod orc shaman.

Looking forward to those pictures.
But the newest minis on reaper have a small indication on the right side on how big they are. That's why I commented on the Frozen Horror that he might be to big.

I have the mercs, that's why I didn't searched for them. With some luck you can find them cheaper on ebay because you need more then 12 (they have multiple weapons options)

Added the second option for Boroush also to Grawshak. If you pain him green it might work, but what with the beard?

Only, this is an Orc as assigned by Reaper, if I recall correctly.

This is actually a male wizard. Anirion. (Tags: Male, Elf, Human, Staff, Cloth, Robe, Caster, Adult, Wizard, Sorcerer, Druid)

On the ogres / orcs: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/bones%20orc

They are huge as orcs, so using them as ogres is a very good idea for HQ.
Use the 5 "regular" orc warriors by Tre Manor as the ogre warriors.
Kavorgh can be a champion.
These two can make a good lord and chieftain: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/bones%20ogre thay are bigger than the orcs.

And for the proxies of expansions, don't forget Bones 2. After the KS has been delivered, those will be in the store too. I can think of many good options to proxy just about everything.

I got the core set pledge and addon set #1. I really wanted the town guards from set #2, but the rest of that set did not appeal to me, except the frog monster. I might buy them from Reaper's store later, or trade them for other Bones.
