Good think I'm going for Chem Eng. I find this interesting and hope to understand the underlying principles behind it all. Got a lot more to lean but hopefully CP will offer his tutoring services if I need them

I've had good luck with this stuff: http://www.lastotallyawesome.com/ Cheap too! Only used it on Acrylic paints so far, but seems to work on Plastics and Metals.

Weight % Ingredient & Exposure Limit
0.01 to 2.5 Orange Oil Blend(CAS# 8008-57-9) & (CAS
#111-76-2))
0.5 to 4.0 Ethoxylated Alcohol (CAS# 9036 19 5)
0.5 to 1.5 Disodium Salt (CAS# 6834-92-0)
0.5 to 1.5 Tetra Sodium EDTA (CAS# 64-02-8)
0.5 to 0.8 Hydroxy Sodium (CAS# 1310-73-2)
QS Water (CAS# 7732-18-5)

YMMV

For less than five dollars you can buy a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and a three-pack of paint stripping brushes that will clean 100% of the paint from off of just about any miniature.

I've tried using brown dettol and a smokers toothbrush, it works but it does make the lead figures a bit more bendy for a while after being immersed. it actually snapped the slotta base bar on an undead commander which was a pain in the backside as I had to glue the bloody thing. I havent had the chance to try it on a plastic figure yet.

I recently had a bad time with a can of plastikote spray on plastic minis, so I sent them an email; they replied really quickly.
They said to use plain ol' white spirit, the soon it is done the easier it will be as the paint wont have time to cure (I did it a few days after) and it all came clean off, with no damage to the mini. A slight bit of frosting but that washes off easily. Now you know!

Come to Denmark and buy husholdningssprit and then use an OTB (for some unknown reason it can't be a NTB) and then your minis will be cleaned in no time!

I think we can all agree the best thing to use is the tooth brush of that one friend that asked to stay a few days and is still there a month later!
